for a stronger Maine
Ben Midgley’s life is built on the Maine values of honesty, resilience, and community. He grew up in York County, married his wife Sonia, who is from Lyman, and together they are raising three children in the same public schools Ben once attended.
His path was not easy. Ben left college early, faced unemployment, and at times relied on public assistance. Those experiences gave him perspective and determination. He started by cleaning gym equipment in exchange for a membership, worked his way through every role in the industry, and went on to build a three decade career in fitness leadership.
Career achievements include:
For Ben, leadership is not only about growth. It is about people. Fatherhood taught him that every individual has a gift, and true leaders create environments where those gifts can flourish.
Today Ben is committed to putting that philosophy to work for Maine. He believes families should be able to afford to stay, young people should find opportunity close to home, and the natural beauty of Maine should be preserved for generations to come.
Ben Midgley understands that Maine’s future depends on strong local industries. We support his vision to grow good-paying jobs in manufacturing, fishing, forestry, and tourism. By backing Maine businesses, Ben will keep opportunity here at home.
Those who served our nation deserve the best Maine can offer. Ben Midgley will fight to ensure veterans have access to healthcare, career opportunities, and the respect they have earned. We proudly support his vision of a state that honors its heroes.
Maine’s forests, coastline, and working waterfronts are treasures that must be protected. We stand behind Ben Midgley’s balanced approach to safeguarding our environment while supporting jobs that depend on it. His leadership will keep Maine beautiful and strong for generations to come.
